Our Story

I’ve been self-employed for almost my entire life. As a kid it was lemonade stands and baseball cards. At 21, it became my first official lawn care company, Lawns For Less. With this venture, I mowed a ton of grass and really learned how Northeast Ohio turf grows.  Over the years I’ve run different ventures, both solo and with partners, sometimes with crews and sometimes just me. And what I’ve learned is this: no matter what equipment breaks down, no matter who doesn’t show up, I always do.

That’s how Colin Can Help was born. After a home-service partnership didn’t work out, I realized I wanted a business where people could count on one simple truth: if something needs fixing, improving, or maintaining, the answer is usually, “Colin can help with that.”

Carrying on a Family Idea

The name also ties back to my dad. Years ago, he started a company called My Guy. His philosophy was simple: when a neighbor asked for a recommendation, you could say, “Call my guy.”

That same spirit lives on here. Around Cleveland, when friends and clients ask, “Can this be done?” the reply has become, “Colin can help.”

The “How Hard Can It Be” Gene

Where some people shy away from trying new things, I’ve always leaned in. My mindset has been: how hard can it be? Study it, practice it, learn the process until you can repeat it — and then use that skill to help others.

That drive has taken me from landscaping and junk removal to odd jobs of every kind, and eventually to full-scale home repair and painting.

When I bought my first house and had to rehab almost the entire thing, I fell in love with the craft. After countless hours of doing, studying, and improving, I added home repair and painting to my landscape and maintenance work.
