Bathrooms Take a Beating — Ours Stand Up to It

Bathrooms might be some of the smallest rooms in your home, but they’re also some of the hardest to paint right. Tight corners, built-in fixtures, constant humidity, and poor ventilation mean you can’t just throw on a coat of paint and call it a day. Without the right prep, moisture will creep behind the paint, leading to bubbling, peeling, and even mold or mildew. We take the extra time up front to fix wall damage, seal problem areas, and choose the right products so your bathroom stays looking fresh long after we leave.

Your bathroom should be a space you actually enjoy — whether you’re rushing through a busy morning or sinking into a relaxing bath at the end of the day. We make sure it’s a place you want to be, with smooth finishes, crisp lines, and even color that feels intentional and calming. That way, the next time you’re soaking in the tub, the only thing you’ll notice is how good the room looks — not the streaks, missed spots, or rough edges.

We also know that time matters — especially if you only have one bathroom. Our process is planned to keep downtime to a minimum, working efficiently so you’re not stuck waiting days to use your space again. From setup to final cleanup, we focus on getting the job done right and getting your bathroom back to you as quickly as possible.

What To Know Before Starting a Bathroom Painting Project

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PAINT A BATHROOM?

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO PAINT A BATHROOM?

Our bathroom painting services start at $425 for a small, straightforward space, with most projects in Northeast Ohio ranging from $425–$900.

That price includes:

  • Thorough cleaning of all paintable surfaces to remove dust, soap residue, and grime.

  • Premium Sherwin-Williams bathroom-grade paints chosen for moisture resistance and durability.

  • Full prep and protection of floors, tubs, fixtures, and hardware.

  • Minor repairs to peeling paint, nail pops, or small drywall damage.

DIY may look cheaper upfront, but skipping these steps leads to patchy coverage, peeling paint, and more costs down the road. Our process delivers a smooth, long-lasting finish that holds up to daily steam and cleaning.

HOW LONG DOES BATHROOM PAINTING TAKE — AND WHEN CAN I USE THE ROOM AGAIN?

HOW LONG DOES BATHROOM PAINTING TAKE — AND WHEN CAN I USE THE ROOM AGAIN?

Most bathrooms take 1–2 days from start to finish, including cleaning, prep, painting, and final cleanup. Larger bathrooms or those needing significant repair may take longer.

It also helps to minimize steamy showers in the day or two before your project — the drier the walls are when we start, the better the paint will bond and the longer the finish will last.

After painting, you can typically use the bathroom for light activity (washing hands) the same day. For hot showers and full use, we recommend waiting 24–48 hours so the paint cures properly. The longer you wait, the longer your finish will stay looking fresh.

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE YOU ARRIVE?

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO BEFORE YOU ARRIVE?

We’ll handle the technical prep — switch plates, hardware, cleaning walls, and covering every surface. What helps us most is if you:

  • Remove personal items (toiletries, towels, rugs, shower curtains).

  • Make sure the space is clutter-free so we can get right to work.

Disruption is minimal. We seal off the work area, keep tools contained, and clean up daily so the rest of your home stays fully functional. Pets and kids are welcome to say hi while paint is drying, but for safety (and to avoid painted paws or tails!) they should stay out of the bathroom until everything is complete.

WHAT PAINT, FINISH, AND COLORS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR BATHROOMS?

WHAT PAINT, FINISH, AND COLORS DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR BATHROOMS?

We typically use Sherwin-Williams Emerald for bathrooms in owner-occupied homes because it offers the highest moisture resistance, durability, and washability. For rental properties, we often use Sherwin-Williams Duration Home, which is designed to hold up well through tenant turnover and frequent repaints.

For finishes, satin gives a smooth, modern look that still wipes clean, while semi-gloss provides maximum durability in smaller bathrooms or spaces with less ventilation.

When it comes to color, there’s no wrong answer — it’s your bathroom, and you’ll be the one starting your mornings there. Some homeowners prefer light, reflective shades to brighten up long Northeast Ohio winters, while others choose warmer tones for a cozy feel. We’re happy to bring over our color samples and even put a few swatches on the wall so you can see how the colors look in your actual lighting before deciding.

Getting Started

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

The easiest way is to send us photos or a short video walkthrough of your bathroom. Show all the walls, ceiling, trim, and any damage that needs repair. From that, we can usually provide a ballpark estimate.

If the estimate sounds like something you’d like to move forward with, we’ll set a time to meet in person. That visit lets you point out any areas that need special attention, and gives us a chance to confirm measurements and address any unknowns or special details before writing up your proposal.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROPOSAL STAGE?

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROPOSAL STAGE?

After we’ve seen your bathroom in person, we’ll create a detailed written proposal and email it to you. That email also gives you access to our client portal, where everything is kept in one place:

  • Scope of work
  • Timeline
  • Payments
  • Messaging

You don’t have to dig through emails or wonder what was agreed to; it’s all stored neatly and easy to reference whenever you need it.

The proposal spells out every step of the job: surface cleaning, prep and repairs, paint type and finish, number of coats, and final cleanup. Once it arrives, you’ll review to make sure the scope of work listed covers everything you’d like to have done. From there, you can select the options you’d like to proceed with, make your deposit, and fill out the pre-job scheduling questionnaire

HOW DOES SCHEDULING AND PAYMENT WORK?

HOW DOES SCHEDULING AND PAYMENT WORK?

Once you’ve approved the proposal and paid your deposit, we’ll lock your bathroom painting project into our schedule. You’ll also receive reminders leading up to your service date so you know exactly when to expect us.

Before the project begins, we’ll have you complete a short pre-job questionnaire. This helps us confirm details like access instructions, parking, pets, and any special notes about your space so everything runs smoothly on the day of service.

For payment, the deposit is collected when the proposal is approved, and the remaining balance is due at the completion of the project. We accept credit, debit, and checks for your convenience.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY OF SERVICE?

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY OF SERVICE?

On painting day, we show up on time, ring the doorbell, and say our hellos. If you’ve got pets, we’re always happy to greet them at the door before they’re tucked safely away from the work area. This keeps them comfortable and ensures the space stays clean and hazard-free while we work.

After greetings, we bring in tools, materials, and the paint. We supply everything needed for prep, protection, and cleanup — so you don’t have to worry about tracking down supplies.

To help us start right away, we ask that any personal items be cleared from the counters and floor ahead of time. That way, we can jump straight into protecting your bathroom with drop cloths, plastic, and tape, keeping your home neat and damage-free.

Once the room is prepped, we move through cleaning, patching, priming, and painting in a steady, organized flow. You’ll see that we work efficiently but without cutting corners — every detail is handled carefully.

By the end of the job, we reset the room so it’s tidy, functional, and ready for you to enjoy. When you step back in, it should feel like a refreshed version of your bathroom, not a construction zone.

Once the final coat is on, we’ll remove all coverings, reattach fixtures, and wipe down surfaces so your bathroom is left clean and ready to enjoy. We do a walkthrough with you before leaving to make sure everything matches the proposal.

From there, we allow for a short touch-up period — usually 3–7 days — to give the paint time to fully cure and for you to live with the new finish under different light and use conditions. If you notice any small imperfections (a thin spot, a missed corner, or something that only shows up after drying), just let us know. We’ll schedule a quick return visit to touch things up.

At the end of that touch-up window, the final 50% balance is due.
