The Most Common Calls For Toilet Repair

If you landed here, odds are one of the issues below sounds familiar — and the good news is, they’re all fixable.
You hear that never-ending trickle after every flush — or worse, it starts running in the middle of the night. That’s your toilet silently wasting hundreds of gallons a month. Usually, it’s a worn-out flapper or fill valve that needs a quick replacement. We can stop the water waste and restore quiet in under an hour.
Those two small parts behind the toilet handle a big job — controlling every drop of water coming into the tank. Over time, supply lines can dry-rot or start to drip at the fittings, and old multi-turn valves can seize or leak around the stem. We upgrade both with braided stainless-steel lines and ¼-turn compression valves that shut off instantly and stay leak-free for years.
You flush, but it just swirls instead of clearing. This often means buildup in the rim jets, a flapper that isn’t opening fully, or a partial clog inside the trapway. We’ll clean or replace what’s needed so every flush is smooth, powerful, and consistent again.
Nothing stresses a homeowner out faster than water where it shouldn’t be. That puddle near the base usually means a failed wax ring or loose closet bolts letting water escape with every flush. We’ll reseal it properly to stop leaks and protect your floor from hidden rot or mildew.
If your toilet keeps hissing after it’s done flushing, it’s not “just air.” That sound means your fill valve isn’t sealing, and water is constantly trickling through. We’ll replace the faulty part and silence the noise — saving water and your sanity at the same time.
A toilet should never shift when you sit on it. That movement can break the wax seal and cause hidden leaks under the floor. We’ll secure it properly, replace deteriorated bolts or flange pieces, and make it feel solid again.
When it takes forever for the tank to fill, or you notice weak water flow, the problem’s often a restricted supply line or aging shut-off valve. We replace both with high-quality, corrosion-resistant parts so your toilet refills quietly and efficiently.

What to Do Before You Call for Service

A little preparation goes a long way toward a faster, cleaner, and more affordable repair. Here’s what we recommend doing before you pick up the phone or schedule your appointment — it helps us understand the problem, arrive prepared, and get your toilet working again in one visit.
If you notice active leaking, turn the small shut-off valve near the wall clockwise until it stops.
Can’t get it to budge? No problem — just let us know, and we’ll handle it safely when we arrive.
A few pictures or a short video of what’s happening (the leak, the tank, the floor, or how it flushes) help us diagnose before we arrive.
If there are any brand names, stickers, or part numbers visible, try to include those in the photo — it helps us bring the right parts the first time.
Text your photos or videos directly to (216) 303-6617, or include them in your message through the contact form.
We’ll review what you send, let you know what’s likely going on, and schedule a time to get it fixed.

Toilet Repair & Replacement Pricing

Every job is a little different, but most toilet repairs are quick, affordable, and can be handled in one visit.
Click each service below to see what’s included and what to expect for pricing.
Toilet Repair Diagnosis & On-Site Assessment
  • What’s Included:
We’re happy to look at your photos or videos for free and share our initial thoughts on what might be happening. It’s often enough to help you decide whether a repair or replacement visit makes sense.

When we come out in person, the on-site diagnosis and estimate fee is $75.
    That covers:

    • Travel and arrival at your property

    • A full inspection of your toilet, shut-off valve, and supply line

    • Identifying the root cause of the issue

    • A clear, written estimate for the repair or replacement

If you approve the estimate and move forward with the work, $50 of that $75 is credited toward your final total.

Most on-site assessments take 15–30 minutes, depending on accessibility and severity of the issue. If the problem can be repaired within that time window using standard parts, we’ll often complete it right then — no need for a second visit.

In short: We’ll take a look at your photos for free, confirm everything in person for $75, and credit most of that back if you move forward. Fair, transparent, and easy.

Flapper or Fill Valve Replacement

If your toilet keeps running after it’s flushed, refills randomly in the middle of the night, or makes a constant trickling sound, it’s almost always caused by one of two things: a worn flapper or a failing fill valve. These parts are responsible for sealing and refilling the tank — and when they fail, your toilet can quietly waste hundreds of gallons of water each month.

What We Do:
We’ll start by testing your flush system and checking water levels to pinpoint whether the problem is the flapper, the fill valve, or both. Then we:

  • Drain and clean the inside of the tank to remove mineral buildup and debris.

  • Source and install high-quality, brand-compatible replacement parts — we only use dependable valves and flappers that hold a proper seal and resist chemical breakdown.

  • Adjust water levels to the manufacturer’s specs for an efficient, quiet flush.

  • Test multiple flush cycles to confirm the repair is fully resolved before we leave.

We don’t just drop in a generic replacement and call it done. Every fill valve and flapper we install is matched to your specific toilet brand and flow rate, so the fix lasts longer and runs more efficiently. We complete the service by wiping down the area to make sure everything is clean and dry when we leave.

Typical Time On-Site:
Approximately 1 hour per toilet.

Average Cost: $175

Wax Ring & Bolt Replacement

If you notice water pooling around the base of your toilet, a soft spot in the flooring, or a musty odor that won’t go away, it’s usually a sign the wax ring under your toilet has failed. That ring forms the watertight seal between the toilet and the drain flange — when it breaks down, every flush can leak water and waste gases into the room.

What We Do:
We’ll carefully unseat the toilet and inspect the flange and bolts to see if they’re still secure or corroded. Then we:

  • Remove the old wax ring and hardware to get a clean surface for a proper reseal.

  • Inspect the flange for cracks, unevenness, or rot in the surrounding subfloor.

  • Install a new wax-free seal (more durable and sanitary than traditional wax) and heavy-duty closet bolts.

  • Relevel the toilet, tighten hardware to the right torque, and caulk the base for a clean finish.

  • Flush-test and monitor for leaks to confirm a solid, watertight seal.

Every reseal includes new bolts, washers, and hardware — and we only use premium wax-free seals that hold up to movement and temperature changes without breaking down.

Typical Time On-Site:
Approximately 1.5 hours per toilet, depending on flooring condition and accessibility.

Average Cost: $250

Supply Line & Shut-Off Valve Upgrade

The small parts behind your toilet — the supply line and shut-off valve — handle every drop of water entering the tank. Over time, these parts can corrode, seize, or start leaking slowly, often without you noticing until there’s damage on the floor or wall. Replacing them proactively is one of the simplest ways to avoid major water damage and extend your toilet’s lifespan.

What We Do:
We’ll inspect both components to make sure they’re functioning and safe. When replacement is needed, we:

  • Shut off and drain the existing connection safely to avoid drips or mess.

  • Remove the old supply line and valve, checking for signs of corrosion or mineral buildup inside the fitting.

  • Install a new braided stainless-steel supply line that resists kinks, bursting, and dry-rot.

  • Upgrade to a ¼-turn compression shut-off valve, which turns smoothly and seals instantly — a major improvement over old multi-turn valves that stick or leak.

  • Test for leaks and pressure to ensure a watertight connection before we leave.

We source professional-grade components rated for long-term reliability — the same ones we’d install in our own homes — not the cheap hardware store versions that can fail prematurely.

Typical Time On-Site:
Approximately 1 hour per toilet.
Average Cost: $125 per line or valve

Toilet Replacement & Installation

When your toilet is cracked, outdated, or just not worth another repair, a full replacement is the best long-term solution. A properly installed new toilet can save water, prevent leaks, and modernize your bathroom in one visit.

What We Do:
We’ll guide you through the entire process — from selecting the right toilet to the final flush test. On installation day, we:

  • Safely remove and dispose of your old toilet.

  • Inspect the flange and subfloor to make sure there’s no hidden damage or unevenness.

  • Install a new wax-free seal, which provides a cleaner, longer-lasting bond than traditional wax rings.

  • Replace the supply line and shut-off valve with new, corrosion-resistant parts for a fresh start.

  • Set, level, and secure the new toilet to the floor with upgraded hardware.

  • Caulk the base and flush-test multiple times to confirm a perfect seal and alignment.

We can install a toilet you’ve already purchased or help you choose one that fits your home’s needs and style. We only recommend reliable models from trusted brands and handle the sourcing and transport if needed, so you don’t have to worry about sizing or compatibility.

Typical Time On-Site:
Approximately 1.5 to 2 hours per toilet (includes removal, installation, and testing).
Average Cost: $450–$600 labor only
Add-on options available if you’d like us to source and deliver your new toilet.
